Overview
Dardar sits a few minutes' walk from Jemaa el-Fna, in a multi-level house that stacks a lounge restaurant, a cocktail bar and an open-air rooftop in the heart of the medina. The rooftop is the main draw: a wide, stylishly dressed terrace with views over the medina skyline and the Koutoubia minaret, and the Atlas beyond on clear days. It is open every day from noon to 2am and moves through several versions of itself. Lunch is relaxed, with burgers and poke bowls in the sun. The aperitif hour brings tapas and cocktails as the Koutoubia catches the last light. Dinner turns to pink couscous, tangia and plates that blend Moroccan tradition with international touches. The bar pours signature cocktails alongside Moroccan and international wines, a rarity in a medina where few addresses serve alcohol. As night falls the energy rises. Live music plays on select nights, DJs take over the decks and the house runs dinner shows, so a quiet sunset drink can turn into a full night out without changing address. The dress code is smart casual, and the house does not recommend it for young children. From the first drink at sunset to the last song well past midnight, Dardar works as a whole evening rather than a single stop.
